Effective January 25, 2010 , school divisions in Virginia are required to have a Special Education Advisory Committee (SEAC) as detailed in “Regulations Governing Special Education Programs for Children with Disabilities in Virginia.” SEACs provide an opportunity for parents and other school board appointees to have a voice in the way school divisions provide services to students with disabilities. Lorretta Stevens Excellence in Special Education Award
The deadline to submit nominations for the Loretta Stevens Excellence in Special Education Award has been extended to April 30, 2017. Thank you to everyone who has already submitted a nomination. If you submitted a nomination via the online Google Form, and you did not receive acknowledgement directly from SEAC that it was received, please resubmit your nomination. There were difficulties with the online form that prevented nominations from being properly received. We are very sorry for any inconvenience.
